Lions2Bees

Biodiversity: from Serengeti to Lago Maggiore

Project

Lions2bees is an initiative of researchers working on biodiversity conservation concerned by the current loss of biodiversity due to human activities. Climate change and biodiversity loss are currently jeopardizing the future of humanity and many feel powerless in front of the challenges we have to face. By going from town to town, from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Varesotto in Italy, by talking about a very broad range of topics, from the conservation of lions and bees, to our individual footprint, we want to discuss face to face with everyone concerned about our world. Lions2Bees is also aiming at creating a global network of municipalities willing to drive these changes for the better by discussing together individual and collective initiatives which can make a difference and exchange ideas and best practices.

What will you find here?

In a first stage, you will find here information about our events and a repository for the presentations given. In a second stage, we want this platform to become a meeting place where all volunteers can exchange about their efforts and communication strategies. We are looking for other researchers and communicators willing to spend some of their spare time to go from town to town and clearly expose three facts: humanity will not make it if we don't change our way of life, everyone has an impact locally but also globally, and finally by changing a few habits, by making a few efforts, everyone can help changing the world for the better. In a third stage, this site is also expected to become a tool for municipalities where they will find ideas and suggestions on how they can improve the situation locally.
